It was nice while it lasted (sandi will most undoubtedly disagree), however, there was one, small victory in the fact that our updated picture for our ward has my beard in its full splendor. RIP.

Trifecta, Hat-trick, etc.
yes, it is a first for us on our blog. 3 posts. 1 day. Total Awesomeness. On the related note of total awesomeness, Sandi had a weak spot after my internship and for some reason allowed me to grow a beard for the next month. It was pretty sweet. Then she made me shave, which wasn't so sweet. For your viewing pleasure, here is the last fun I had with it before it was completely gone.

From the full beard, down to the 70s...
to the wildwest...
to something that belongs in a mug shot...
to this, young and naked face.
It was nice while it lasted (sandi will most undoubtedly disagree), however, there was one, small victory in the fact that our updated picture for our ward has my beard in its full splendor. RIP.

Elk River Adventure #2
Last year we went to Elk River to do some hiking and eat some Huckleberry ice cream and we couldn't resist doing the same again this year. We went with some friends and had a great time hiking around.

Mike at the beginning of the hike looking very dashing even with the beard. (He does not look so chipper near the end after we had cut through the brush up a steep hill to save time.)
This one is a little dark but it is us next to the upper Elk River Falls.
Just a couple more pics of the upper falls, they weren't the most impressive of all the falls so I don't know why we have more pictures of it than the others.
This is Mike and I both looking amazing on the path next to the middle falls.
This is a view looking down from the middle falls.
This one is actually from above the middle falls right before it takes the big drop.
A view from atop the aforementioned hill.

Our Updated Apartment
So we accumulated some new stuff for our apartment over the summer (I am now a big fan of IKEA) and we wanted to show it off.
1. The New Beadspread.
We got this so cute comforter cover from IKEA for only 20 dollars. I didn't really need a new one but I couldn't resist.

2. Refinished Dresser
We had this semi ugly looking brown dresser that had many scratches and worn down areas. It was pretty hashed and I wish I had taken a before picture, but alas, I didn't. Anyhow, apparently a little cheap paint from Wal-Mart goes a long way because it turned out awesome.

3. Shower Curtain
We needed a new shower curtain since our new apartment has two bathrooms. Instead of buying a fancy nice one we ended up buying a cheap plain one from Target. Mike had the great idea of adding something to it to make it look better. So, I chose out some fabric and with a little help from my most talented mother-in-law we ended up with a pretty good looking shower curtain.

Well, that's about it on the home updates. We also got lamps but I didn't remember to take pictures of those.
